ATAYOS 2020 Exam Information


  • ATAYOS is the university entrance examination of international students organized once a year by Atatürk University.
  • International students who want to study at Ataturk University at the undergraduate and associate degree levels during the First Placement Period and Additional Placement Period can use the ATAYOS exam result.
  • Exam validity period is one academic year.
  • Exam result will be evaluated out of 100 points
  • The language of the exam booklet will be prepared both in Turkish and in the language chosen by the candidate.
  • There are 80 questions in total, 40 IQ and 40 math questions.
  • ATAYOS Exam is 150 minutes.

    Candidates will pay the ATAYÖS exam fee according to table below.

    ATAYOS 2020 Exam Fee can be paid in two ways:
    1. Exam fee can be paid online through the system.
      For this, candidates must have credit cards or debit cards (Visa or Master) that can pay online. In the online payment, the application is automatically approved if the payment is transferred. The confirmation message will be sent to the e-mail address you wrote during the registration.
    2. Exam fee can be paid as EFT / Money Order / SWIFT.
      Candidates who will apply for the exam from abroad and domestically will be able to pay the exam fee through a correspondent bank or the banks that make international transaction.

      What should be considered when paying the Exam Fee?
      • Please write your Candidate Number, your name and surname as stated in your foreign identity as a definition to the bank receipt.
      • When paying the exam fee, the amount of the money that will be taken as a transaction fee of transferring money should be calculated apart from the exam fee.
      • Candidates who pay the exam fee should examine the bank receipt given to them carefully before leaving the bank branch, and if there is a mistake in their information, they must have it corrected before leaving the bank.
      • After paying the exam fee, login the system and upload the picture of the page of your passport which has your identity information on or your TR identity card. Your application will be deemed invalid if the bank receipt you uploaded to the system is unreadable or if another image has been uploaded.
      • The money sent by the candidates is considered to be deposited after it is sent and transferred to the account. Exam fee must be transferred to the account completely within the application schedule. Otherwise, the money transferred to the account after the exam application calendar will not be refunded and the application will be deemed invalid.
      • Special checks, money in an envelope, postal checks etc. must not be sent for Exam Application fee.
      • If the above-mentioned information is declared incomplete or false (uploading the bank receipt as unreadable), your application will be deemed invalid and your money you paid will not be refunded.
      • In case the exam fee is deposited in the form of EFT / Money Order / SWIFT, the exam application approval procedures are carried out by our office experts by checking whether the money is transferred to the account based on the bank receipt document you have uploaded to the system.

    EXAM FEE REFUND


    Only in case of cancellation of the exam by Ataturk University to be held at the exam center chosen by the candidate, the exam fee will be refunded. Since the refunds are made in Turkish Lira, it will be made according to the exchange rate of the day the refund will be made.


    * Points to consider in case of cancellation of the exam to be held at the exam center determined by Ataturk University ;
    • When the exam fee is paid collectively,
    • If the fee deposited over the ATM and the Candidate Number, Name and Surname of the student applied for the exam was not taken place on the statement of the bank receipt uploaded to the system,
    • In the cases where the applicant student's Name, Surname and candidate number are declared incomplete or false in the receipt statement section, the refund will not be made in any way.

    The Situations When There is No Refund:
    • Although the candidate has paid the fee he will not be refunded if
      • He/she cancels his/her application,
      • His/her application is deemed invalid,
      • He/she does not or cannot take the exam,
      • He/she is late for the exam,
      • He/she is not accepted to the exam,
      • He/she is expelled from the exam,
      • He/she cannot succeed in the exam
    • The exam application fee of the candidates whose exams are deemed invalid are not refunded.
    • If it is detected that the candidates make payments from both accounts by creating two different accounts in the system, the fee paid is not refunded.
    • The applications of the candidates who do not pay the exam fee within the application schedule are not accepted.
    • Exam fees taken from candidates are not transferred to the following years.

    APPLICATION CONDITIONS


    The applicants who have the following requirements will be accepted:
    1. Provided that they are in the last year of high school or graduated;
      • Those who have foreign nationalities,
      • Those who were born as Turkish citizens but later permitted by the Interior Ministry of Turkey to leave Turkish citizenship, including their underage children who are registered for leaving Turkish citizenship and who can certify that they have the document regarding the Exercise of Given Rights, pursuant to the Turkish Nationality Law,
        • In the 7th article of the Turkish Nationality Law numbered 5901 it is prescribes that “(1) an infant born from the marriage of a mother or a father having Turkish citizenship inside or outside Turkey is a Turkish citizen”; applicants who would like to apply for the quotas of foreign admission should further review the Turkish Nationality Law
      • *(Information is given in the appendix) Those who used to have a foreign citizenship but later acquired Turkish citizenship, those who have a dual citizenship under these circumstances
      • Those who have Turkish citizenship and have completed the last three years of their secondary education in a foreign country except Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) (including the applicants who completed their secondary education in Turkish schools which are under the Ministry of National Education in a foreign country except TRNC) before 01/02/2013,
      • Application of Those who started and completed their secondary education in a foreign country except Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) after 01/02/2013 (including the applicants who completed their secondary education in Turkish schools which are under the Ministry of National Education in a foreign country except TRNC) to the quota of admission for the students from abroad,

    2. Those who have TRNC citizenship; live in TRNC and have obtained GCE AL degree after completing their secondary education (high school) in TRNC and those who have or will have GCE AL degrees after registering in the colleges or high schools in other countries between 2005 and 2010)

    * Appendix 1. In the 7th article of the Turkish Nationality Law numbered 5901 it is prescribed that “an infant born from the marriage of a mother or a father having Turkish citizenship inside or outside Turkey is a Turkish citizen”; and the applications of those who have high school diploma from Turkey to the quota of admission for the students from abroad are rejected. However, under the scope of the Ministry of National Education Board of Education and Discipline opinion about “The applications of those who have completed high school education (except TRNC) in Turkish Schools abroad can be accepted within the scope of Student Acceptance from Abroad", those graduated by studying at the Open Education High School Western Europe Program operating abroad can also be evaluated within this scope.
    Candidates whose applications will not be accepted are as follows;
    1. Those who have T.R citizenship and have completed all their secondary education (high school) in Turkey or in TRNC,

    2. Those who have TRNC citizenship “excluding those who have completed secondary education at TRNC high schools and have obtained GCE AL degree and those who have or will have GCE AL degrees after registering in the colleges or high schools in other countries between 2005 and 2010)”

    3. As defined in Article 7 of the Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901, Dual citizens whose first citizenship is Turkish from birth “except those who fulfil the requirements in 1/d”

    4. Dual citizens who have TRNC citizenship “excluding those who have completed secondary education at TRNC high schools and have obtained GCE AL degree and those who have or will have GCE AL degrees by registering in the colleges or high schools in other countries between 2005 and 2010”

    5. Those who are Turkish citizens or dual citizens whose first citizenship is Turkish from birth as prescribed in the article 7 of the Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901 and have studied at schools affiliated to foreign embassies or foreign high schools in Turkey.

    APPLICATION PHASES


    Domestic and abroad applications will be made online between the dates 25 January 2020 and 20 July 2020 on the internet address yosbasvuru.atauni.edu.tr Applications that are not made through the internet address, but are made in person or via mail will not be accepted.

    If the information declared during the application for the exam is incomplete or false, the responsibility belongs to the candidates. To the information fields of the system, the personal identifying information must be filled in without abbreviating and changing the information given on the official identity. The editing of personal information cannot be done after the system registration is completed.

    1. In order to apply for the ATAYÖS exam, you must enroll at http://yosbasvuru.atauni.edu.tr ATAYÖS

    2. For the process of creating membership you should enter your personal e-mail address and phone number in the system.

    3. When creating membership, you must fill in the personal information requested from you according to the information on your passport.

    4. After the process of creating membership, an activation link will be sent to the e-mail address used when you register to activate your membership.

    5. Exam application cannot be made unless you activate your membership. If you don't get the verification code in your email box, please check the SPAM or JUNK BOX of your email address first.


    1. The fact that the candidate student has created membership does not mean that he has applied for the exam.

    2. After the membership is activated, login to the system and click on "Make ATAYÖS Exam Application" option.

    3. The candidate student chooses the centre and exam booklet language to take the exam and pays the Exam Fee.

    4. Exam Fee: Exam Fee payments are made in two ways: 1. EFT / TRANSFER / SWIFT 2. Online payment.

    5. Candidates who pay by EFT / TRANSFER / SWIFT must upload the voucher / receipt to the system when applying.

    1. Candidates can view and print their Exam Entry Forms at yosbasvuru.atauni.edu.tr/, 5 (five) days before the Exam Date.
    2. On the day of the exam, applicants must only take the Exam Entry Forms and Passport or ID Cards that they uploaded to the system.

    PREFERENCES


      Candidates can choose Ataturk University undergraduate and associate degree programs from http://yosbasvuru.atauni.edu.tr/ within the preference dates for the programs.
      Candidates must get at least 30 points from ATAYÖS exam in order to make a program choice.
      Candidates can log in with the e-mail and password they use while signing up to the system, and make 15 choices in total, 5 formal and 10 open education.
      The preferences of candidates are recorded over the instant system. They can change and delete their preferences within the process.
      Placement results are announced through the system on the dates stated in the exam calendar.

    ADDITIONAL PLACEMENT


    Additional placement period is the period in which candidates who want to study at undergraduate and associate degree at Ataturk University can apply for the program with the international exam or diploma scores announced to be accepted apart from ATAYÖS-2020.



    1. Candidates who take ATAYÖS-2020 exam and prefer Atatürk University, but are not placed

    2. Candidates who take the exams of other Higher Education Institutions stated on the website where the exam results are accepted

    3. Candidates with other international exam and diploma scores announced to be accepted

    INTERNATIONAL STUDENT REGISTRATION INFORMATION


    • Candidates who are eligible within the dates announced in the exam calendar are required to do their final registration in the registration building.

    • Registration of those, who present falsified, fake, incomplete and incorrect information and documents during the application, placement and registration process, is cancelled even if their final registration is done.

    • Candidate students who are entitled to do their final registration can only register for the program in the placement result document.

    • ATAYÖS Placement Result Document is substituted for the acceptance letter.

    1. Original High School Diploma with its Turkish translation copy approved by Turkish Foreign Representatives

    2. Diploma Equivalency Certificate (it can be obtained from Turkish Foreign Representatives in your countries)

    3. Original transcript with its Turkish translation copy approved by Turkish Foreign Representatives

    7. Certified copy of the passport and certified copy of passport translated into Turkish obtained from Turkish Foreign Representatives

    *Candidates who do not take the ATAYÖS exam in the ADDITIONAL PLACEMENT period must bring the original document they used when applying.

    *Candidates who do not take the ATAYÖS exam in the ADDITIONAL PLACEMENT period must bring the original document they used when applying.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


    Candidates who will take the exam do not have to speak Turkish. Exam booklet language is prepared both in Turkish and in the language chosen by the candidate. Candidates who are placed in departments whose education language is Turkish will continue their programs after studying Turkish at the Turkish Teaching Research and Application Centre (TÖMER) at our University for a year.

    Candidates who pay by Transfer / EFT / Swift while depositing the exam fee; They must upload the bank receipt containing their First-Last Name and Candidate Number, and the system will not accept applications if they do not. The account management fee must be taken into account when depositing the exam fee. Candidates who upload the receipt to the system should check if their exam fee is withdrawn from their account or not. If the exam fee is not withdrawn, they must re-deposit the exam fee.

    There are documents that you need to upload to the system to create a membership from yosbasvuru.atauni.edu.tr and apply for the exam. These documents should be scanned and have file extensions (JPG, PNG, PDF), and their size should not be more than 1 MB.

    In the information entered into the system: in cases such as letter error in name and surname, wrong date of birth, misspelled mother or father name, any change in passport number, you should write an e-mail with your candidate number, name and surname about your problem to yos@atauni.edu.tr.

    There is no country quota application in ATAYÖS quotas.

    No, the Turkish Language Score is not required for these programs.

    ATAYÖS exam result is valid for one academic year. Candidates who have done their final registration cannot use ATAYÖS results again. Without registering for their program they were placed in, candidates can prefer vacant quotas with their international exams / diplomas accepted during the Additional placement period.

    The candidates getting at least 30 points from ATAYÖS exam can prefer formal education programs.
